About the Course

In this masterclass, you’ll learn how to create a pattern for a classic, fitted jacket with princess seams in a woven fabric – inspired by the timeless Chanel jacket. The starting point is your own body measurements, allowing you to develop a personalised base (basic construction) for a jacket that is genuinely tailored to your body and proportions.

You’ll learn how the jacket is constructed with panel seams both front and back, how to construct and adapt these seams to your figure, and how to make the necessary adjustments to the pattern to achieve a clean, professional fit. Throughout the course, you’ll work with pattern paper and cotton calico (toile), allowing you to see the jacket “on the body” and make fine adjustments before working with your own fabrics at home. The goal is that, after the course, you’ll be able to construct and fit Chanel-inspired jackets yourself – with confidence in both technique and silhouette.
