In this exclusive masterclass, you’ll learn step by step how to create a dress pattern based on your own measurements, using professional techniques you can return to again and again.

About the Course
The starting point for this course is learning how to create your own dress pattern based on your body measurements, rather than standard sizing. You’ll develop a personalised base (basic block) and learn how to transform it into a finished dress pattern.

The dress we’ll be working on is a classic sleeveless princess-seam dress in a woven fabric. Because it features panel seams both front and back, you’ll gain a deep understanding of how a dress can be shaped to your individual figure and proportions.

You’ll sew a toile in cotton calico, try it on, and learn how to make adjustments both to the toile and to the pattern in order to achieve a clean, professional fit. This dress block provides the perfect starting point for developing your own dress designs later – with or without sleeves.
